OUR STORY

Songbird Cattery is a unique bespoke all indoor cattery that was designed and built by John and Linda Hamilton, husband, and wife in 2017. When designing the cattery, we wanted to develop a facility that we knew our own cats, Oscar, Skye and Leo would feel relaxed and comfortable staying in just like home. We opted for an all-indoor cattery due to the typical climate found in the West of Scotland.

 

John and Linda reside within the cattery grounds which provides a 24-hour presence for the protection, safety and wellbeing of all our guests. Being a small family run business allows staff to spend extra 1:1 time with our guests both the day and evenings.

Linda is a nurse with 20 years’ experience. Linda brings her nursing knowledge to the cattery where all cat’s oral intake/output is charted daily.  The recording of this information can quickly identify if our guests begin to show any signs of concern.  This information will also aid our vet’s assessment and speed up any necessary examinations/treatment that may be required. Our vet practice is open 7 days a week and covers a 24-hour period each day.  All cats who board with us will be covered for veterinary expenses for any new condition that may arise whilst in the cattery.
